Microsoft Access is a very versatile program. Its main advantage is also its main downfall. It is so easy to get started in that the vast majority of programs written in Access are slow and buggy. Often people with little or no experience hack together something in Access and are then disappointed with the results.
Because we are experienced programmers, we can create a product in Access that looks just like a commercial desktop application such as Quick Books. It will be fast and robust because it was designed properly. Since it is Access you can still make minor modifications yourself and you can certainly learn how to create your own reports saving hundreds of dollars of programmer time.
